Rain Rain Go Away !!!!

Two weeks ago i sat having a few beers with some fishing buddies. 2 of which are farmers..
"man some rain would be good" , "rivers could do with a flush", "if i dont get some rain soon i might have to get rid of my cows", were all used while we discussed the water issue..........
Two weeks on and
We really have had enough now !!!! Heading towards 175ml in 5 days and no indication its going to stop soon .....

Just had a weekend on the other side of the hills in Mansfield, drove around the farm in 2wd and crossed all the creeks/rivers no worries. Different story in NE Vic where they could do with some rain.

With 175mm so quick, there will be some new structure around

I agree the Ive had more than enough of the Rain Cold & Wet

Just spent 3 days at Mallacoota Vic Bream Comp

Fishing in the Wind and Rain

Picture This

Day 1 Alarm goes of at 5.30 to the sound of Rain on the Roof Prefish Day
Its cold windy wet & raining, what are we doing here this cant be fun, but we put the boat in anyway. Morning pre fish even in wet & cold is good pumped. 2 yr Old Boat Motor Breaks Down at Midday arrrh Idle back to boat ramp not happy. Pull Boat Out Fix problem stuffed coil thanks to Local Outboard Mechanic shop. Oh well Comp day we right great Relieved as we thought wed be pulling out. Dry out Clothes & Wet Gear tie leaders set.

Day 2 Alarm Goes off again to the sound of Rain not as heavy. Where pumped feeling very confident as we had great pre fish no 3 away from start line all good. Back boat into water 6.00 am it wont start WTF it wont start. In the dark in the rain etc etc. 60 other boats launching not happy JAN whilst its cold wet just to turn up the anger. So we leave the start line with the electric motor hahaha yeah with the fish all miles away. After two hours of fishing near start line with bursts of Wind & Rain & No Fish pull boat out find mechanic, one fuel pump lead disconnected yesterday for repair not reconnected but looks connected 20 second fix WTF back in water pull dozen legals after nearly going home with a DNF. Dry out wet gear & clothes etc.

Day 3 Alarm goes off its Raining Serious Bucket Loads oh crikeys we must be crazy fishing in this again are we serious. Off we go from start line well down the field. We Get to our bank where we caught 12 or so legals day before and its Chocolate Chocolate Brown from all the rain. Could not see the lure 1 foot under the water. No fish Cold wet we struggled all day just to land 4 legals. 3hr Drive home Raining all the way. Gear all wet.

So I am with you I am sick of the current rain and all that goes with it !!!.

All we need now is a flood.
It does not look like letting up in East Gippy for a while.

Great effort to all the guys that fished well at Mallacoota
Great Effort Well done to adapt in the various conditions.
It was certainly testing

Thats my Rant and Rave

Regards Nordy

Hasn't rain all that much in the west boys. Apparently the Hopkins is running super clear at the moment. Maybe a weekend fishing road trip down our way might relieve some of your frustrations!

Just remember to save some fish for the locals!

Thanks Blair

The rain just made the whole thing even worse, but to top it off mate 2 x 5kg plus bags came from our spot located in our short pre-fish NOT HAPPY JAN

Rain has not stopped hear been raining all night.

Now I bet the Rotten NETTERS are at the mouth of all rivers having a NETATHON Netting the mouths of Rivers in these flood times should be banned 100% banned. Look what the last Flood did to the Tambo Fish Stocks. The Netters took a huge amount of Bream there last year, the Tambo has never recovered since been fishing like absolute crap.

LETS BAN NETTING RIVER MOUTHS IN FLOOD TIMES

It would be nice to Get Rid of Netters full time but at least this should happen

Regards Nordy
