Wet Weather Gear for Boating and Yakkin?

Well nearly all of the leaves have fallen, and i find myself sorting through the wardrobe for the wet weather gear..

I have come to the conclusion that my current gear, although ok for boating,is not ideal for the Kayak.

What are peoples preference on wet weather gear?

Is it best to have a seperate jacket and pants?

Or is a one piece jumpsuit ideal?

Any feedback would be great..

I like having a separate jacket and pants in the yak, I have a light weight wet weather jacket and some light weight wet weather pants looking at upgrading to some wader pants with socks not boots pricey but will be worth it as I can get me feet wet launching ect and stay dry

im in the same situation, i was thinking about getting a pair of the shimano dry fender waterproof bib's i thought it would be better because they come a fair way up your back, and just a waterproof jacket over that should do the trick i think

lately I have just been wearing a sharksin type pants (lavacore). Reason I like it is its water repellent and if you fall in or it pours down, you still keep warm. I just wear a waterproof jacket over that and with a choice of thermal layers undernearth and even with the cold mornings weve been having have kept nice and warm.

What he said ^^^^^ I got a pair of these about a month Nick and they worked a treat, they are perfect for the yak as they have in built feet like waders, mean you can walk your yak into the water and not get wet, a big plus.

Nick,
Had the Kokatat pants for 2 winters now and they are the best investment
At this time of year. The great thing is the neoprene section that covers around your kidney area which when sitting in the yak and keeps your lower back warm.
