I caught a Gannet in Port Phillip Bay in the same way when it mistaked my soft plastic for a bait fish back in Spring, bastard nearly spooled me, luckily it dropped it at the last minute.

Happened up north. Not easy getting a barra lure from a large sea eagle once you get it back into the 3.5m tinny. Those talons and beak, big scary and sharp up close. Friggin funny but.

pulled in a pelican up the murray, cast within 3 metres and he made a dive he was a bit too quick for my chatterbait to sink, would have put up a better fight on lighter gear
