i guess a pflueger trion or berkley dropshot with sic guides rod rated 2-4kg
and shimano sienna 1000 size line strength 6lb braid and 6lb fluoro leader $150 gets an entry level combo try zman plastic grubs for durability Last edited by nannat; 17-03-2013 at 09:33 AM. |

U can get a diawa laguna combo in 7foot or 6'6 for about a hundy from most tackle shops the reels are great for the price I've had mine for about 6 months and it cops a flogging and still goes really well (not as good as the freams tho.) haven't used a bream size laguna rod but I have used the baitcaster heavy rod and does really well.

Either the Laguna combo, or grab a starlo stix lite spin for $120, then a shimano sienna 1000 for $45. Add some sun line super PE 0.8, and vary your leaders from 4-8lb.

Mate if you had the option of increasing your budget slightly you could get a Daiwa Generation black rod for $140, check out the threads on here about them. They are an awesome rod for the price. A reel of you choice, Daiwa Arids look ok. Would probably come it at a little over $200 though.

diawa aird
rod and reel combos are $200 plus reel has two spool sizes that you can use. eg the 1500 reel comes with a 1500 plus 2000 spoll. that way you can cover finesse lines class 2-4lb as well as 6-8lb for muscle work on bream.
