40 - 50lb braid ...

need to spool up my 8000 with some decent braid so i'm wondering what everyone is using for the heavy stuff.

this reel will be used for a mix of casting a jigging .....

Something from the varivas or daiwa hypa 8 stable would fit the bill nicely

Frog or Fins. I've heard some good reviews about the sunline in the heavier stuff as well.

Love Varivas in the lighter stuff but I really don't rate the Varvivas in the heavier stuff.

Accudepth man, my 40lb spooled on the stella 5000 has lasted a long time and some big fish and havent even reversed it. Rate it big time and if I had the funds would have re spooled all my big reels a long time ago. Go annoy bubba and he should be able to sort some for ya.

I use Avani Casting for my offshore casting braid. Its smooth stuff and perfect for a casting/ jigging braid. The only problem I have had, is it does bleed a bit but white braid is overrated anyway

Daiwa Accudepth.
I got it in the 30lb on my branzino and my bro uses 40lb on his Stella 5000.
Very thin but be aware it breaks close to the stated breaking strain.

Go the Tasline/SAS braid, can't beat it for quality and price, poo's on the big name brands. Fine and strong with good knot strength, awesome stuff.

Stay away from the Daiwa accudepth/hyper unless you like being busted of by decent fish. Worst braid I've ever used, I had to strip it of my reels after a few trips cos I couldn't trust it after loosing some good fish that I wouldn't normally loose, just pops so easily on hard running fish.

Cheers,
Al
