Honda 40hp 4 Stroke 2005

Hi all,
Going to buy my second boat soon... it's a quintrex hornet 400 with a Honda 40 4 stroke 2005 model on the back of it. I've been a Yamaha boy all my life and just wanted to get some feedback on these Honda's! Are they a great engine? are they as good or better than a Yamaha? Can't wait to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks all!!!

My old man has a Savage Jabiru tournament 430 with a Honda 4 stroke 40hp donk on it... It certainly gets the boat to where you need to go in acceptable time..

One of the best things is they are super quiet at idle, and will runoff the sniff of an oily rag.. The boat only has a 22 litre tank in it, but one tank will get quiet a few trips out of it.

As for servicing, they are very easy to do..

If your a Yamaha man, youll kick yourself you didnt buy a Honda 4 earlier...

i have a honda 40 2001 model and it has nearly 1000hrs on it and it still runs perfectly with no hiccups i get it serviced every 100hrs and the honda trained mechanic said they are just starting to get going at 1000hrs and will easily last 3000hrs before a rebuild.
super quiet and yes will run forever i have a 40L tank and can easily do 4 trips our including comps where we can cover easily up to 30-50kms in a day and it has never used more than 1/2 a tank doing this

it would be very hard to get me away from a honda for ANY future boat i get
i have a 435 hornet trophy tiller steer

cheers
