Is the new sol as tough as the certate 2010.

Hi guys.
I'm looking at buying a new reel and after seeing the new sol today I fell in love with it.
I noticed it has a metal body and this why I was asking if it's as tough as the certate.
if the new sol even comes close to the certate I'll be over the moon.
I'm looking at a 2500 size. Or 2508 in this case.
Thanks.

Thanks mate.
Do you use yours on your kayak cause that's what I'll be using mine on.

Hey Gozz,

I have been using Sols for around 3 years now and in that time have only managed to wear 1 out, and in saying that all it took was a service and a few replacement parts from Daiwa and she was as good as new. But I purchased a new 2012 Sol a little over a month ago and am really disapointed in the reel, it feels loose and clunkie in my opinion, and is a huge let down to the Sol range. I like the EVA knob but thats about the only thing I can say I like I would rather the 2012 Caldia as my 2004 and 2500 Caldia's are faultless and only a few dollars more then the 2012 Sol

Yeah gozz, I used mine in the yak 2-3 times a week and I've serviced it once since 2008. Admittedly I'm super fussy and I wrap my reels (while on the rod)in a plastic bag before I head out and unwrap them so they don't get travel spray on them

Thanks guys.
I had the earlier model caldia kix and I loved that little reel till I lost it over the side.
Might have to check out the new caldia or the new luvias.

The old kix' are still a great reel. My mates got a 4000 and I'd rather use that than my older sol and even my certate. They are soon smooth and feel bulletproof.

You can get caldia's from digitaka delivered for $210-215. They're awesome too, lighter and many more sizes available
