I was getting a few on surface lures over the patchy ribbon weed banks when the wind was up but doing better fishing plastics on the deep edge of the drop off.
Far too many boats for me at the moment, I won't be heading back out there until well after new year.

Your doing better then I am. I through surface lures , hard bodies, plastics, flick baits, got nothing but flatties. Couldn't even pick up a whiting.

Yeah I have left the boat undercover too, just been putting the waders on & walking the banks

The boat traffic on the Basin is crazy at this time of year.
When its like this I get the kayak out and fish a couple of tiny creeks that few people know about.

That's the way, unfortunately I dont have that luxury

I don't mind walking the banks, catching fish always makes it more enjoyable.

These creeks are tiny and I've never seen any one else fish them.
Pretty hard to get to but hold some good fish that make it worth the effort.
Certainly too overgrown to walk the banks.
I don't think they would cope with too much pressure, which is why I only fish them christmas and easter and tell no one.

Micko or GH,

Anyone know if the prawns are there at present, or are they few and far between.

Cheers

Adam

Mate it's all over the place out on the basin at the moment, all species are very patchy. Glad to hear your catching a few wading though. Early morning would be the shot for a few bream wading, surface lures or hidden weight prawn patterns, try straight through 3lb fluro or long leaders mate.
