Cleaning down my Mercury 2 stroke
Hi Guys,
I was hoping to tap into some of the wisdom on here regarding engine cleaning. I have noticed when I take my engine cover off my 40hp, there a quite a build up of salt inside my engine housing. Is there something I can use to clean this off without damaging my motor? Any ideas would be most appreciated. Cheers Pat |

my question would be ,why is there salt build up in my motor housing?
i think new seal(s) required. asap regards to salt there now, use a dry cloth to loosen it then the good old vacuum to suck it out but to have salt in there , and as you say quite a bit, that means water is getting in and quite a bit as well. you need to stop that as a priorty. definately do not wash the motor down with out th ecowling on.
