newbie to fishing with lures

Can people give me their opinions and experiences regarding using lures for bream when its dark/semi-dark say 4-6am or 7-9pm. How about when its night time? I've only lured 2-3 times and its during the daytime with mixed results, but never at night.

Semi dark is good, they work of a night esp scented plastics. Do a search on this site for more info.
