Fix'n up a tinny.
My old man got given an 11ft tinny for his birthday, and we're planning on converting it into a creek exploring weapon. We've pretty much got the layout sorted, but we've noticed a few pinholes in the hull and a small crack in the transom. Does anyone know the best way to repair them? Also we're looking for a small motor, probably a 9 or 10hp as well as an electric. Any suggestions?

You can buy this putty metal stuff from bunnings, you roll it into a ball that mixes the hardening stuff in the middle with the outside, steel wool the surface on both sides of the hull and press it on and after about 3 hrs it will be rock hard. I did this with a hole the size of a 5 cent peice and fixed the problem really well.
Depending on the size of the crack in the transom I would get it welded. Josh, |

I've had it on for 2 months now, hasn't cracked or shown signs of corrosion, it gets some slamming headding out to nearby reefs too. If somthing happens to it, ill just redo it.

Welding repairs on old ally is a hard job. The old ally soaks in the contaminants from the atmosphere and water etc. Becomes very hard to weld the older it gets.
