any paint expert's willing to give me a hand. OR do any members know of a paint forum
hey guys, I've bought this up a few times, pretty much I've got my spinnerbaits going good, just the paint chips a bit easier than I would like. so I want someone whose's a paint expert to fix me up.
Currently I use createx colors (single pack) water based acrylics and apply through a Paasche VL airbrush straight to the lead head. I then brush paint a topcoat of Northane Marine clear (Polyurethane). It comes up alright, but is just a bit soft and I would like to get my finishes as close to commercial quality (bassman, smak etc) as possible. I am thinking of going to 2 pack colours, But I want to suss it out a bit before I spend a ton of money, I am willing to set up with a positive feed respirator (I already have an extraction fan and flu etc) if that be the case. I just don't know about good brands, and whether I should be using acrylics, enamels or whatnot (I'm not a real paint head). Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone knows a good paint forum that could help. Cheers |
