What areas are you fishing, like deep, shallow, edges..

Tell us what gear your using, braid, leader, lures ect

And then maybe someone can help you out

If your still fishing around Paynesville jetties ect its going to be very hard time of year to tempt them on hards mate, still possible but really depends on a lot of factors especially where they are sitting in the water column and when they are feeding ect. Your best bet around the Jetties is Plastics, Vibes and Stick Minnows. If you fish down Newlands then you can crack out the hards depending on where the fish are sitting, its going to be very tough during the middle of the day in most cases down there though, usually an early morning bite and you need to find the fish first Very hard thing to do LB.

I'd be looking at Hards such as Atomic 38's, Chubbies all deep divers and lures that can be cast a long way. At the moment if your LB i'd fishing the dropoffs ect. Bit hard not to spook them LB if they are in the shallow water without a lot of experience doing so. Much easier from a boat mate. Go light on your leader in Newlands, 4lb is enough. 4-6lb at the moment around the jetties. 8lb for dirtier water but you will find it harder to fish placcies as effectively around the jetties. You need to be prepared to lose lures so Plastics are probably your best bet Dont cast out from the jetties. Castaround the Pylons ect, if your not within an inch from the Pylon then forget about catching any Bream. You need to be on the money. Also the same with boat hulls ec, you need the lure up nice and tight or forget about it.

Sprat Sticks go okay in the right conditions around the boat hulls otherwise i'd say Shinku's in Bondi Brown or Bleeding Ayu or similar. Million different types out there mate but the Shinku's are cheap and pretty good
