I realy did have a hole in my boat.
Went out yesterday for a quick flick and everything was a-ok. Did not wash the boat as I was planing on going out again today, so I just slipped the whole rig in the shed.
Stopped by the local tackle shop today to get some tackle and went for a fish, in the wind and slop. After 10min at anchor, rigging rods I noticed water raising above the floor. By time I got to the stern the water in the boat was 8-10 inches from the top of the transom. Grabbed the emergency bailer and was flicking water out at the speed of a thousand. Was doing no good, and thought this has got to be comming in through a big hole. Dunked my arm into the brine and discoverd the bung was out but still held there with it's plastic tangs. Screwed it in tight, and quickly checked the other side, and it was in tight. Pew, grabbed the big bucket and started to emty my rig, followed by the smaller emergancy bailer to get closer to the rear floor.Seeing I had no problems yesterday, and didn't wash the boat, and hence did not undo the bungs, plus the fact it was only one bung. I have to say some knuckle head undid it at the local tackle shop while I was inside. Yep that was a preety funny joke.

Nothing worse than realising there's a hole in your boat when you're out on the water! I had to plug an old Tinny with a soft plastic once. I found that the Squidgy wriggler was an excellent choice as you could poke the thin tail through the hole than pull the rest of the body through. It was pliable enough and firm enough to stop any water coming through.

Not so bad mate.. A few years ago I had someone loosen the wheel nuts on my (very loaded) trailer... I did the wheel bearings a couple of weeks before, made certain they were tight and checked them before the camping trip.. Anyway, on the way home doing 100km/h down the highway the wheel pops off and I'm trailing a huge amount of sparks as the U bolts ground down to nubs.
Wasn't a pleasant way to end a week long, rained out camping trip.

That sucks mate!
I always make sure the bungs are in tightly when I undo the tie down straps to launch it. One of our bream master members sunk his boat from a missing bung...
