G'day, I've got a couple of Stella fe's and if you're referring to the difference between them and the current Japanese twinpower that shares the exact same shape body? If so I am sure the twinpower is alloy and stella lighter magnesium. Also from memory? 8/9 bearings vs 14 in Stella there would be durability and smoothness under load differences. Remember every less bearing is a plastic bush in its place afterall.

The older twinpower fc shares the body of the sustain and Stradic of that era with one more bearing than the sustain, I struggled to see the value in that model for the $ Shimano wanted.
Cheers matt
