Saltist T handle removal

I'm trying to install a power knob and i need to remove the centre pin that the T handle is screwed into, the daiwa schematics only has the whole handle as one peice... how do i remove it?

I dont want to drill anything out if possible

I'll upload a pic soon

You don't remove it, the new knob should fit over that shaft the same as the original one did, if the new one doesn't fit you must have bought the wrong one.

i bought and ebay knob, i need to remove the pin to install... there must be a way!

the new pin is in my hand and and is larger than the original but will fit in the handle once the old pin is removed.
