Roughly if I did it might want to put 6-8k aside
To get everything finished and sorted

Importing an American bass boat here is a huge undertaking going off what i've read from other people's experiences.

You have to find some boats you like - pay someone to go check out each one.
Make sure the trailer isn't too big - otherwise factor in more $ to get one fabricated here.
Pay a guy to clean the whole boat out thoroughly and hope it makes it through customs easily.
All transport fees and customs/duties etc etc etc to get it here and then probably more random fees once it is in the country.
The fact that you are buying a boat sight-unseen and putting all of your faith into the guy checking out the boat.

In the end i think it's a hell of a lot easier to buy here but by all means go for it! Goodluck with your boat search, i wish i was in your shoes and looking to upgrade

Can be a cost effective and rewarding thing but as stated if you get it all right and have the right people on your side.

Or it could go a different way and be in court like me chasing dollars back or even a boat would be nice.

Hey TD are you able to fill us in on your tale? sounds like you have run into some troubles importing a boat and I'm interested to know where it went pear shaped.

Having just come back from the US a few weeks ago, my advice for what its worth would be to take a holiday over there and check out a number of boats yourself and make a deal, the economy over there is so stuffed that you can make a deal on anything. You will easily save the cost of your trip and more, plus you will get what you want test it etc etc. If your smart you would fill the compartments with easily saleable gear (not from mexico) and flog it off once you get back. Get any mods done there get it wrapped whatever its so much cheaper.
