ryobi reels

hey guys,
I saw a few ryobi reels online (tresor & krieger) and they look quite nice selling for $95 delivered. Don't need anything fancy, but dont want anything rubbish either. Just wonder if anyone think these are decent reels that are equivalent to daiwas or shimanos in the $150ish mark. These ryobis do look the part tho.

Never seen or used em. For close to $95 dollars you can get decent entry level reels from Daiwa, Shimano, Pflueger etc. I've had Sienna FD's for a while that i start off on and they're still going good - plus they're only like $45 these days.
For around $100ish, maybe look at the Daiwa Aird - comes in a few sizes and has a spare spool.

You lot are obviously youngsters. When I was a boy (60's and early 70's) there were only two reel brands; Ryobi and Daiwa. Haven't things changed.

You guys do realize that the Penn Affinity reels were actually made by Ryobi and sold as Ryobi in other countries. They're a bit on heavy side but rock solid reels none the less. I have a 1000 size for about 8 odd years now and it's still going strong without ever giving it a service!!!

I am not sure about which Ryobi reels you are looking at, but I bought two small ones with rods for my kids years ago and they cost me $20 each with the rod included. I don't think I would spend the money on one know. The drags on the these reels were very simple and there are a lot better options and value for money around know. I have some Shimano stradics which are great I reckon for the money.
