Colours that dont work

There has been plenty of discussion about lure makes and colours that do work and there seems to be common ground around the traps ie gold is good.

I'm curious to know what colous have been used without success so that others shouldnt waste time/money trying them out. ie is red no good???

Matt

Mattj,
I dont like anything bright, but saying that a little bit of a brightness on the lure can help, especialy if the water is murky.

I've caught some nice bream down Walpol way on a blue/white rapala minnow, actually it outfished scorpions in gold and brown trout.

Black goes off after sun down or before sun up, caught bulk fish at those times on Black R2S.

My least Favourite colour would have to be the purples - got a couple of variations and they never seem to catch for me, but they never seem to get wet either - which could be the problem.

cheers

I'm with Richo a 100% there and I've also done fairly well with pink lures as well.

My least fave lure beyond purples has been been ones with a heap of red or blue (apart from one weekend at Walpole where if you didnt have blue you werent in the hunt). I do however like a bit of red under the "chin" of the lure, just not all over.

I recently purchased an oar-gee lil ripper in black with some red at the front.
Havent had any luck so far, was i wasting my time with that color? Is a more natural color better? There was one with a mixture of browns and gold, maybe ill go grab that one.

Cheers
