Hull Sealant

Just removed my bow rails on my Stratos to fit my Electric motor and now I have the screw holes left behind. I have been looking for a hard filler in beige colour to match the hull colour. Can anyone recommend something to use?

Hey mate, stratos so I am assuming its fiberglass.
Have a look at some fibre glass resin and some of the pigment to color it.
This should see you able to fill the holes with a hard finishing compound and match the color.
The problem you will run into is the holes are in the middle of the rough textured area so you will struggle matching this pattern.
I would suggest over filling the holes and attempting to match the pattern by working the excess filler with some wood working instruments such as a v shaped awl or similar.
These items should be available from a major boating store and hardware store and cost less than $100 all up.
Good luck.

possibly just cover it with something, might be easier than trying to fill them and blend them in properly or have your bowrails modded to fit with the electric maybe.

Given the checker surface I be looking to cover rather than fill. Can you get underneath? I'd put some nice round head stainless bolts in the holes. If you cant get in there even silicon them in - they are only decorative.

Without seeing it, and not knowing what it would look like, have you thought of just putting the screws back in ???

Hey thanks for all the ideas guys. I think going the FG route might be a better way to go but more work involved. Might use a Dremel to get the grooves back into it then buff it. Attached a larger photo to show I can't get inside and I have a few to fill so screws or plates won't look the best.
Thanks...Math....
