daiwa vs shimano

i have always been a shimano guy but i got a new daiwa aird and they are so nice and smooth plus a spare spool for 130. then you compare that to a sahara and for the same price and the aird is way better in my opinion anyway. just wondering what your thoughts were?

I love shimano because their reels last for ever they are super smooth and light and they are really good value.

Forget the label and use whatever the hell feels best for you.

+8

Sometimes it's best to just forget about specs and technicalities and feel the rod/reel you're after. Come up with a budget and work to it. I'm a Daiwa man personally. They tick my preference boxes better than Shimano.

Find out what's best for you

But without a label I would have to make choices for myself, what sort of an upside down world is that.

like my shimano

Have to say I love my Stella and twin power and big baitrunner! However I prefer the feel of daiwa rods, but refuse to match them up because its too offensive to some so use shimano rods too!

(I have started to look at other rods to upgrade though)
