What should I expect to pay?
I know there are a lot of people on here who have done modifications on their boats, adding casting decks and livewells etc.
Well Dad and I have recently bought a Stessl 370 Edgetracker and are now looking to do a few mods. The first thing on the cards is a casting deck up front. We recently went to a local welding company and asked for a quote on what it would cost to weld a frame for the deck. The quote was $550 dollars including materials, labour etc. Is this a fair price in comparison to what you have payed for your deck frame welding? We did not feel to rushed to put that much money into a deck especially when there are other things on the cars eg new motor, leccy. Would it be worth getting a quote from another company? The only other option is to build one ourselves, has anyone had experience in this? Oli

There is 2 guys in Billinudgel that should be able to do it. On the circuit, between the vets and a smash repairs is an aluminium welder. Then behind the car air conditioning place on the main drag is another welder guy. Both seemed cheap to me when Ive used them.

Dad said he thought there was someone in Billinudgel and I think we might try get a quote. We were predicting around $200-300 so $550 was shock. Fingers crossed!
