To Soare or not to Soare

The opportunity to purchase a Shimano Soare 1000pgs has presented its self. This is brand new in the box. Problem is I am not really in the need for a new reel. I have a Stradic 1000FH that I would probably sideline. At $450 it seems a good buy, however a little more then I would normally spend.

It is a beautiful reel, but thought I would do a shout out to see what BM members think of these reels. I would be using this matched to a Black Diamond Clear Cut 7' for flats fishing.

Todd88, is the JDM, which to be honest is why I am interested.

Try to fish, dead right about resale, although this is something I intend on keeping for quite some time. From what I can find on here though, resale would not be to bad.

Keeping it coming guys.

Thanks.

I have that exact reel and really think it is overkill for bream. Save your money for lures or a new rod.

1000 sized Shimano overkill for bream? Or price-wise you mean?

I was thinking about the 2500 but decided against it as the gear ratio was a bit slow for what I wanted. I'm after a faster reel for fishing plastics.
They are a beautiful reel though and perfect for hardbodys.

Have also had a soare 1000pgs amazing reel. Regret sellin it big time. I've owned countless reels and the soares drag was probably
The best of the lot.
Also so light and smooth.

The 1000 has a ratio of 4.3-1 I think it's a really slow reel perfect for crankbaits.

Todd you are correct
1000-4.3:1 and Great for crankbaiting
2500 is 6.0:1

I have a 1000 pgs and is a great for cranking and super light.
