I had a flick at a secret spot on the Tweed today not accessible to the boaters. Was chuckling to myself watching one boat after another fish the same stretch of rock wall. Maybe the dirty water and non stop roaring engines made things tough, but a lack of originality probably didn't help either!

Wow surfacebreamer maybe with your knowledge of the system you should have entered. Without being out there prefishing and not knowing how tough the bite is.
A comment like yours lack of imagination is a bit much. Those rock walls are a fall back when the bite is tough. Those walls have a history of having a bite period and if you are there at that time you can get that bag of fish. Give them a break. By all accounts the fishing was very tough and they had to fall back on what was needed to be done to get fish Yes there would have been some guys that do follow the crowd though

Does look like it was tough. I tend to agree ^, there is a wealth of knowledge fishing the comps so i'm sure most of them were fishing that Rock wall for very good reason.

This was a tough comp and got harder on day two. Might have looked like every boat fishing the wall, but I can tell you first hand that there were boats from the lake in the back of the Terranora Arm to boats up in the almost fresh upper reaches of the Tweed.

I fished way up the tweed on the prefish and didn't sight a Bream, during the comp I fished flats, canals, rock walls and deep gravel/ reef in both the Tweed and Terranora. I can also tell you everywhere I went there was either a boat or a Kayak.

Another interesting thing was I get just about every fish on day one on hards, went back on day two and couldn't turn a scale. Had to move around and try different things and all the fish came plastics.

Well done to Matt Finney for a great win over the weekend, he stuck to his guns and didn't leave despite no fish comming early on day 2 and managed a great bag.

Cheers

I have to agree, it is the worst I have ever fished in the tweed, didn't even weigh a fish...

Day one was spent chasing our tails going from chinderah to teranorra catching plenty of small fish but nothing that went 26 on the ruler (if it was 25ttt would've been laughing)

Day 2 simmo and I decided we would make the run up river and caught all of our fish north of barneys point bridge, simmo managed 3 legals in very fresh water.

Was good fun none the less and congrats again to finney on 2 great bags as well as everyone else who caught fish
