8lb power pro

Ive heard some bad reports about 3lb, my mate uses 5lb with no dramas. I was thinking about re spooling my bass outfit (2000) daiwa with 8lb. Anyone tryed it and had any dramas? Also how bright is the green, is it dark or a yellow colour? My mate uses yellow and after a few casts in the dam it goes poo brown.

I'm waiting on my 3 and 8lb to turn up. Will give a report if it makes it before the weekend. I had 5lb for awhile bit thick for its rating of anything but was pretty hassle free.

I used 8lb powerpro a lot. Its great. Would be perfect for bass. Probably breaks at more like 15. Fades to a light grey/green over time. Seems tough.

Its great.

8lb power pro

Hey creek bandit my mate uses that line and the yellow colour seems to fade really quickly
I use the heavier line class and it has never failed me yet
It is a good tough line
Maybe go for the new slick 8 power pro it looks the goods
personally haven't tried it yet because it ain't( I know aint aint a word) available in Cairns
Hope this helps

That would be fine for Bass mate, i've used from 3lb up to 8lb and not had any major hassles, only downfall is the thickness imo.

6 pound goes great. not too heavy for bream, whiting , flatty and enough stick teamed up with a heavier fluoro lead (8lb-10lb) for bass and other larger fish

love my power pro 8 lbs in white.fished with 10 lbs leader for squid to salmon on the back beach without any dramas.
most line snap 100% on leader and not the line for over a year now.still looks as new and didn't bother to swap it over.

Not sure where you guys get the info that PowerPro is thick. In my experience it is thinner than most, including Nanofil, Berkeley and others.

Powerpro 8lb is 0.127mm
8lb Fireline Crystal is 0.18mm
Seaguar 8lb is 0.13mm
Nanofil 8lb is 0.15mm

i go for the "feel" test over what the packet says, it feels on par with 10lb super PE imo, 5lb broke at 11lb for me when i tested(using a meter from start and a meter at the end of a spool.

Feels thick especially in comparison to Sunline Super and Castaway.

What bad reports about 3lb have you heard? I've been running 3lb powerpro for a while and havnt had any dramas with it. First use I got a wind knot but that was with an overfilled spool and 20kt of wind. I found the green dark and hence difficult for plastics fishing where I like to watch the line for movement so now I use the white or yellow
