New reel options

Hey guys, getting a new rod means I am in need of a new reel. The rod is a Black Label 631 ULFS and I was thinking of matching it up with either of these four reels. The 2 questions I want to know about these reels is, 1- Will they balance the Black Label nicely?? And 2- How did they go in the long term?? e.g. Durability and Longevity.

Daiwa New Caldia 2004 ($350)

Daiwa Emeraldas Infeet 2506 ($220 from the shop with the "mo")

Daiwa Ballistic/Freams 2000 ($220)

Daiwa Gekkabijin MX 2004 ($200)

Are there any other reels I should look at getting within this price range?? I am pretty set on the Freams as I would like a reel with a slower ratio and I can get it locally but my options are open!!

Thanks guys,

Callum

caldia is definately the pick out of the ones you mentioned. Will it balance with the black label? Should do, i dont see why not. Durability, Longevity.. so far so good.

Go the Caldia 2004. I have both the freams 2004 and caldia 2004. Not too much difference but I like the Caldia better...but only fractionally.

For that money I'd go the Luvias DA Custom. Magnificent reel and a 2000 would match beautifully with that rod given how light the reel is.

I've got the 6"4 technical and 6"9 versatile.
All my reels from a 170g Stella 1000 to sustain fg 2500 at 260g balance on them.

The reel seats seem to be in a perfect spot!

id go the sustain if u could afford one over the freams. i have both and personally think the sustain is miles ahead. Haven't used a new caldia, have felt them in the shops and id say still go a sustain.

I will try one on the rod when I get it, my local stocks FG's. I also think the black Sustain would go awesome with the Black Label aswell, color scheme and performance wise

Yeah sustain would be my pick! Otherwise if your diehard daiwa have a look at the emeraldas 2506 on mo's they're $439 and light as, and they punch well above they're weight!! Would be good for any larger by catch you may come across...

yeh sustain would look good on the rod. there a very solid reel. I've hooked and landed, also lost some big fish on my 2500 fg and its so smooth to use while fighting the fish. considerably more then my ci4 stradic for example.
