12lb Nanofil

Has anyone tried it and had any problems with it? Heard of a few problems with it in the lower line ratings and I'm keen to try some out.

Iv been running the 2lb Todd, I say down with a few metres and some 3lb leader and played with knots untill it worked. In the lighter stuff I just doubled it over before doing the knot, didn't slip.
I'd say 12lb will be easier but just play with it first. Then let me know what it's like in the racks

Mate I'v been using the 12lb for some time now and it seems OK.
It's very strong but a bit stiff for my liking. It's great for chasing fish like Jacks.
I prefer a good braid over Nanofil.
Worth a try tho.

Thanks mate, I prefer stiffer braids for some reason!

Hey guys

Been using this for a while now and i'm pretty happy with it, no random knots snapping which has been good. However if I had my time again I would probably go the 6 or 8lb, they probably break at around 12lb anyway and would be easier casting unweighted plastics.

I tried the stuff in 8lb when it first came out, after 2 sessions I stripped my reel and threw the DohDohDohDoh out.. One of the worst lines I have ever used, countless wind knots, poor knot strength (even with doubling the line) and it would randomly break mid line. Far to many lost lures and the casting distance wasnt even as good as I was told...

My personal opinion is don't buy it, save those few extra pennies and go with a much better braided line.

12lb Nanofil

Hey i've had this line ever since it came out and it does randomly break at times (maybe due to wear and tear) but has held up good against big BIG!!!! Barra. The line does good but cast into wind with this line; or you'll get lots of annoying wind knots

Not for bait casters

Hope this has helped

Jaco i'm currently running 12lb nano on my 2500 spin reel
I tie a kaneit knot onto 15lb berkley vanish
The leader knot has never broken it's just the nanofil i think(maybe the guides on my rod have something to do with it)
