Best value finesse reel

Just wondering what you guys think the best value finesse spin reel is? I'm looking for a reel to match with a lox yoshi and don't want to spend over $180-200. Will be running 2-3lb straight flouro and will be using it for ultra finesse fishing on flats etc.

Pretty hard to go past a Stradic IMHO

i'm a fan of the caldia 2506. shallow spool is good for fluoro ... comes in under your budget. in fact, i want to buy another 2506.

which lox 7 or 7'6. i have a 7'6 and although the 2506 looks big on that rod, it balances better .. a smaller 2000 reel may look better but it will be tip heavy.

dunno about the balance for the 7' but would say smaller reel will feel OK.

Had a 2000 caldia on a 7" lox nice combo, but still a tiny bit tip heavy. Very nice though.

Shimano Stradic CI4 I reckon. A little over $200 but only just.

Daiwa Fuego.
Got a 2000 sized for under $200 AUD delivered from the US. Saw them here at a store for $449! They come in 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000.
If you want to buy locally, maybe a Gekkabijin MX 2004 or the previous model 2506 Caldia.

Air spool is the biggest thing to keep in mind...

Gekka mx in a 2004 or Caldia 2506's are the go!

anything under ~230-240g and the rod (7'6") will feel like a lead tipped arrow and uncomfortable to use IMO but any bigger than a 2500 in Daiwa and it looks too big to some.

hard rod to match a reel with but a small price to pay for such a nice blank.

what length lox yoshi do you have?
i have the 7 foot one paired with a 2000 sol and think it's a good match. It is slightly tip heavy but its not very noticeable nor is it uncomfortable to fish with for long periods. From memory the 2000 Sol is 230 grams.

long one mate

shorter one will be easier to balance up .. but it's really to do with what you like .. depending on where i am fishing, sometimes i set up the combo to be tip heavy but most times prefer the balanced combo

I use a Daiwa 2000 SOL on mine and it feels great!
