hand painting lures

has anyone hand painted some of their lures?! im willing to give it a go with some of my old unwanted lures in my box. i am going to use spraypaint and some hobby paint so hopefully it stays on. has anyone caught fish on painted lures?! at the moment i have sprayed a strike pro pygmy black and stuck some red eyes on. it looks ok surprisingly! im not sure how it will go but im willing to give it a shot

Here's a couple of my handmade & hand painted lures. Smaller lures will be a little more fiddly but still quite doable. Pat

I repaint lures that have lost their original paint, I find random stripes of red nail polish that look like blood seem to trigger a few strikes...

I paint a few of my vibes bright pink, along with a few suspending hardbods. Have a specific location where bright Pink is the ducks nuts

HAHAHAHa I buy all these $$$ lures and your catching them on nail polished crankas hahahha That will teach me

You need to get the paint off before you air brush them. Really fine grade sanblasting on low pressure so you dont stuff the lure

Cheers

I just get some light sand paper and gently rub it off... the result is nearly the same and cheaper.

Im moreso talking about doing 20-30 at a time. If its only one or two that would be fine.

I was thinking about getting the gear and starting to do it myself. Its alot of money when you can get awesome colors from fishin.com.au for $6.00 more than the norm when Dan paints them up. He does a sweet job.

I want some more of one of the colors, its been my clear water goto since I started using it.

Cheers
Chris
