Freams or rarenium???

Hey guys. Buying a new reel this weekend, but still trying to decide between thr new 2000 freams and the 2500 rarenium. It will be used for mostly plastics but have been getting more into hb and blades lately. And it'll be matched up at the moment to a rack raider, but I want to also use it on my 1-3 camo stik pro.

Leaning more towards the rarenium coz of the 2 spools which gives me the option of the lighter and heavier lines, and also bigger drag (will be taking north next year). But having used my brothers 2500 freams it is a bloody smooth reel.

So just chasing peoples opinions, or even any other ideas in a similar price range

Cheers, Ben.

Rarenium is very smooth also mate and would definently be my pic out of the two, not to mention it looks better than the freams aswell imo. Have you considered the fj stradic?

Easily the Rarenium, great reel. Had a feel in the shop, and they feel and look better than the freams.

I have never felt a Rarenium but i can tell you that the Rarenium is a great reel, not to mention the awesome 10year warranty not that they would need it anyway

I've looked at the fj's, but I wanna go a lil better. I've got a 2500 fi stradic, and I cant really fault it, so would assume the rarenium would be alot better again. I've also got a white caldia, but after the same use as my stradic, or probably less it feels a bit sloppy and doesnt seem as though it'll hold up as long as the shimano.

Next question, does the rarenium have as much flex in the body as the ci4 stradics, thats the one thing that concerns me, with all that drag if your putting some hurt into a decent fish, the last thing you'd want is alot of flexing?

yeah there good but a FJ is better than a Rarenium. Paladin gear, X-Ship and it being a Stradic are the things a rarenium dont have. rareniums are still good, most people lean towards them because they are lighter, but if you are going to take it up north and dont need 2 spools, go the FJ.

I see you've got a 2500 fj on a 1-3 kg stick, how does it balance out? Not too heavy? Hows the fj after a bit of use, holding up well?

Shimano fan boy???

He mentioned the Freams. The new Ballistic is way better than the new Freams IMO. Caldia is worth a look because it's a similar price to a Rarenium.

Very happy with it, wouldnt swap it for a rarenium!! It balances very nicely, balances perfectly just where i keep my "twitching finger" or my index finger. I think these look better than the rareniums aswell.

one of the reviews on the rarenium said after so much use they got a bit loose and one of the reviews on the freams said the same, i use a freams and a mate uses the rarenium and we both agree after using each of them our answer is flip a coin both are still as good as the day we got them and we use them 4 to 5 times a week the technology has definatly come along way so many options now, let us know which way you went and how your choose is after a couple months use.
