Need Avatar Help please

Hi,

Can someone please help me with my Avatar (thats the picture that goes with my posts, isn't it?)

It just looks crappy and the original one looks great, its just I don't know how to shrink it so that it retains focus but is small enough to be acceptable.

Thanks,

Jim

The biggest problem you are going to have with any image is the loss of quality as you make it smaller. Each time you reduce the image size, you're trying to use a smaller and smaller amount of pixels to show the same image.

What tends to happen is that the colours then bleed. Not a lot you can do about it. The best idea is to fill as much of the original image you can with the fish and yourself, similar to the way I took the shot below.

HTH.

On Ya Ozy, On Ya Mate

Can you see my blue heeler on the casting platform?

That was a great pick of my pic Ozy, as you said it must be OK so I'll leave it.

I've got a grin from ear to ear

Jim
