Jackall Chubby 38S Deep - does is slowly float in saltwater?
Just a quick question guys...
Does the Jackall Chubby 38S Deep Diver produce a slow float in saltwater or is it a suspending lure for salt water? Not sure if it was designed for fresh or salt that all... thanks guys! Also what method of retrieve do you guys find best? and what colour? Last edited by Yellafella; 29-10-2011 at 12:46 AM. |

You ca get them in both suspend or float. The floaters are easy to suspend with a little Tung Fu placed under the bib. I like to make suspend, generally a slow roll with the odd pause and rip. Cheers,

Thanks Stompy, just wasn't sure. Just got a suspend today (by accident) and meant to get a float.
Think I will down-size the hooks (look a lil big - maybe a 12 & 14 ST36 owner instead) and change take off the oval split ring, which may lighten the lure and give it a slow rise. I want to swim it before hand though to see the action as intended, but from what i've read upgrading the hardware on them doesn't affect the action too much. Definitely will get the float next. p.s. is it just me or is the brown suji shrimp very similar to the atomic muddy prawn (I know atomics came after too!) |

Just an update, and may be of interest to anyone buyin a jackall chubby suspend for saltwater app...
Ended up changing the hooks over to ST36 owners, one 12 and one 14, took the oval split ring off too. Action didn't seem to be hindered and the lure successfully floats very very slowly on the pause in saltwater (perfect for keepin in the strike zone but also negotiating around snags and structure). Unfortunately didn't land anything decent on her, only a few moses perch and of all thing two blowies (argh). Should be good for the bream when I can find em. |
