Choose me a Squidding reel

G'day guys

In the market for a squidding reel, Will hopefuly be going on a Hearty Rise Egi Force Type C.

Been looking at the Emeraldas Infeets, Egee's and the Freams. Any other options?

Leaning toward the Egee atm because of the metal body and the price, have also been recomened them by a few others.

Cheers

I haven't seen a Freams up close but they could be a great option in the 2506 size. Otherwise a 2500 Stradic Ci4 suits that rod well.

I have an E-gee on mine which is OK but there are better reels around.

Freams are a fantastic reel - we have them in the shop now - and the Ballistics will be in soon (high-speed Freams). The new Calida (with Mag Seal) will be around later. The E-gee is good... but really does not feel in the same legue to me.

I use an Emeraldas Infeet on my squiding setup and it performs excellently, not sure how it will balance on your set up though.

Shimano had a squid reel in the Rarenium range at the trade show, looks pretty good with the squiddy double handles.. Just had a quick look at the catalog but could not see it off hand.

Also worth noting that a lot of the shimano range it is now possible to order the double handles that they use for squidding to fit a lot of their range.

Or you could just be done with it and go for the Megabass squid reel no need to keep looking once you have that bad boy.

I used a 2500 Rarenium 2 nights ago....it was brilliant....the spool looked a bit like a stella...the line lay was brilliant..the reel was smooth...it had the round pva style handle knob...it was only around 215 grams...and when the guy told me it was a $250 reel i was amazed....i had just been to CA and played with the Freams which was also very nice...

And Complete Angler Nedlands have a couple left but they are selling like girly mags so dont wait around if you want one..
