Pflueger Patriarch or Daiwa Sol 2000?

I am an avid user of Pflueger reels, as I currently own Supreme xts and MG's.
At the moment I have an overhead Patriarch that I use to chase cod, and find it very smooth.
The reasons behind looking at Daiwa reels is the salt water handling ability, and rep in the tournament seen.
I have found after a few salt comps, and trips the Supremes have started to loosen up, and not feel as smooth, even though I look after them as best I can with regular cleaning.

I'm intending on getting to a few more bream comps next year, and have read the Daiwa reels handle keeping out the salt a little better.

If you have a Patriarch that you regularly fish salt water with it and have had no issues, I would like to hear from you.

I have read and been told the Daiwa reels tend to last a long time with little to no wear. So I would also like your opinion if you use the Sol or Luvias.

In the Daiwas, I can stretch the budget to a Luvias if needed.

Please though no pro team comments.

ive had both a 2000 sol and a 1003 luvius. both brilliant reels and never had an issue with either despite them copping a flogging in the yak. ive heard that the pfluegers are great reels but apparently the sizing on them is a little different to "most" major brands. best bet would be to pick your rod first then get the reel that suits best cheers YD

Daiwa reels specify that you dont wash them with water, simply wipe them down. My mate had to pay 10 bucks to send it back after it seized up after he hosed it down after its second trip. It was a sol. Might I suggest abu soro stx, I now have two of these and they are just about bullet proof. Mate of mine just bought a revo and that is also a sexxy peice of equipment

I own a Patriarch baitcaster and use it in salt all the time have had no issues with it at all.I do prefer to use my Curado though.
I have also owned a Supreme Mg it was the worst spin reel ever,I would try a Sol in my experance Pflueger make good Rods and Baitcasters and Terrible Spin reels.
