Abu soron reels?

Just looking for some feedback on the abu soron reels. I borrowed my
mates the other day, its a 20 size and used it on my 7"2 veritas .
It felt good and balanced well but is abu a good affordable reel
or a lemon?

I don't have the soron but do have the cardinal 802.

Very solid reel. Awesome drag, but doesn't feel as polished (its a little rougher) as my stradic and sols. The soron is further up the range.

Good affordable reel would be a good description.

I sold an Abu Soron STX40 (the blue one) a little while back because it wasn't getting used enough... thought it was an excellent reel for the money, very smooth, carbon drags as standard and no play in the handle whatsoever. It was a little heavy but this could be forgiven since it felt so solid. Obviously the 20 would be lighter so may not be an issue.

If the're a lemon I have eight lemons. Strong very underrated reel. Learn how to service them and do it regularly and all will be good.

Iv only had a play around with them in the shops but have always been impressed with them.

Suprised they are not more popular, especially in the heavier line classes.

Just baught one from DohDohDoh. Its a 20 size stx. Spooled it with 3kg fireline exceed , hooked a medium sized ep this arvo and played it out. Performed quite well on my 2-5 kg dropshot tournament. Would recomend this reel for someone who fishes from a yak or bush bashes like me.

Would a 20 soron compare to a 2000 or a 2500 in shimano or daiwa.
At around 270grams it's no light weight but like mentioned it's tough as nails.
