what stick bait to get?

Hi guys,
Now I know that there was a lot of threads concerning this and I just would like to know a bit more about them...

I was thinking of getting the following:
- Smith shirasu.
- Smith crystal alive

I already have a 3b sub dog that I am yet to swim and have no desire to get a teimco because they have discontinued 007. And what colours are the best to have, what do they weigh and how do they perform.

thanks

I had a look at those on Fishin.com.au, they look great. I was also looking at some gladiator ones I think that they are called an eply or meba something and for the price I think I will add some with the smith lures.

smith shirasu over the alive. stere clear from the gladiators, they are pretty nasty. sprat sticks, zippy rapaels, lucky craft have a nice one. just other options.

Guess what I got

,
Today i got a smith crystal alive and 2 glaiator eply's. So far I think the crystal alive is the best looking lure in my box. Sorry mitchmcm I didn't get to read your post before I bought the lures. I'll be giving them a go tommorow.

Thanks guys, and last thing how do the atomic semi hards go the. Bloke at freddy's was saying they are value for money and were smashing some EP's on them.

Just one question about the crystal alive do you rig it backwards to make it more natural looking. Say switch the back treble with the eye of the lure so that the head is facing backwards?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys

Um i would say no. Next time you are out chuck it in and watch what it does. They are pretty cool. not sure if reversing it would help but maybe it would be interesting to try once you see what that lure does as it is.

I tried it out normal and found out that it's a back slider so rigging it backward might affect the action. I mightent trie it because I found that the hooks tangle, great lure though and i might be investing in some more.

Also the gladiator eply is AWESOME it sinks at just the right pace, drops without a flutter and on a straight retrieve it wobbles from side to side. The colour range sucks but. It also casts a mile.

Thanks for the replies guys. and I'll be putting some pics up of the lures.

Try whacking some zx hooks on the front. You can work the Crystals in the shallows and surface. This is usually how i use them and i usually whack zx hooks on the front, great when the prawns are running.

They do catch whiting using this method as well.

Yes it is from the Ecogear blade, you should be able to pick them up at most tackle stores that sell the Eco Blades or Online.
