Daiwa Certate Upgrades

Hey Gang,

Recently picked up a Daiwa New Certate 2000 model and my golly gosh it is the smoothest sexiest reel I've ever felt.

Anyways I was planning on blinging it up and wanted to know what my options are.

First I wanted to upgrade the handle most likely to the Power Knob in the small size or maybe a Cork RCS?

I've also been looking at the 2004 size spools and wanted to know the difference between the Blue/Red and the "Air" Version.

I found some information on them here: http://www.japanprofishing.com/reel/...rcs-spool.html

The Air version seems lighter and cheaper? And one is listed as Finesse drag with the other listed as ultimate drag? Whats the go there?

Also is it common for people to upgrade the handle shaft to the RCS version?

Cheers guys much appreciate any info you can offer me.

Joel

The difference between the red and blue RCS 2004 spools are colour. I think finess drag has 2kg of pressure for fishing lighter lines and leaders.
The reason the air version is cheaper is because it the older style RCS spool.
Any daiwa knob will fit on your certate its personal preference.
In my opinion it's not worth upgrading the handle shaft itself on a certate because it already fits two bearings. Unless for some reason you wAnt to change the length.

Ok cheers mate that's what I wanted to hear. Definitely going the newer red or blue one. Will check them out in shop ASAP. Hopefully one of them looks atleast half decent on the Certate base.

Thankyou

Joel
