Daiwa RCS knob question?

I have just upgraded my older Certate with a new RCS handle and knob. The instructions were all in Japanese, so I'm not sure I got everything right.

First of all I slipped one of the washers down the knob shaft (on the handle) followed by one of the ball bearing races, followed by another washer, then I fitted the RCS cork knob into place. I then slipped another washer into place, followed by the second ball bearing race and the last washer. I then fitted the screw and then I finally fitted the little push fit cover.

Everything seems fine except the knob doesn't turn freely. It does turn, but it had quite a bit of friction.

I'm thinking that I didn't really need to use all the washers supplied. Is this the case?

No, you don't need to use all the washers. Take one out at a time til it spins freely.
