Skagit diving bettles?

Hey i just got a bunch of these lures, any one have any advice on how to use them?
Or if they go alright?
I had never seen/heard of them before today?

I love them, got my first trout and about 15 reddies on mie the first time i used mine

Diving Beetles

Sorry, can't provide much advice re: these lures as I didn't use them much.
I did catch bream on them by simply slow rolling them, but I'm sure twitching and pausing like with other jerkbaits would be effective as well.
I'm sure Pygmy II will be able to help out more than I can.

HI Macgruber,

Ive found with the Diving Beetles that the best technique is to cast out,quickly rip them down then pause 2-3 seconds then two 6'' twitches of the rod tip then pause again for 2-3 seconds then repeat the process.
They are a suspending lure.
The Diving Beetle 40 will hold at 3-4ft
The Diving Beetle 50 will hold at 5-6ft.
They do work very well on Bream in particular these colours.

Thank heaps pygmy, really great advice
Would you be able to tell me by any chance wha trebles to load them up with?
I was thinking size 12 owners but i have limited money and i dont want to go through the whole trial and error process

i used size 14 decoys they married up nicely perfect size

Hi Macgruber,

They come fitted with Van Fook trebles i use Daiichi 8110 #12 trebles as replacements either shouldnt break the bank balance much!
good luck with those lures,hope you get some great fish on them.
