Sammy 65 - treble replacements ..

do these dudes use #8 owners trebles ? bloody trebles have rusted out. would you replace the split rings at the same time or will the rusty split rings be OK ? (rings aren't too rusty)

My Sammys all have red hooks so I don't think they're Owners thats for sure.

My guess is they would be equivalent to roughly size 8 owners but don't quote me on that.

ST11UL and ST36 look the part I think.

Mate replace the lot split rings and trebbles St 36BC's are fine and size 8 or 6 will do...prefer 6 on the back and 8 up front.

Yer mate would agree if your going for bream, but for bass the bigger the better.

True, just go a meduim size then get bream and bass.

I actually like to bigger sizes for Bream as well, fish often knock the lure around on the surface and you miss a lot with small hooks.

The larger hooks provide a better hook up rate IMO, I also prefer Owner ST11's, they are a lot finer and tend to hook up more easily.

Can you or someone also tell me what is a good all round size to get for other lures smaller 2-3.5 gram lures such as ... jas zappas, atomic hardz mid shad 40, 1/8 switchblades, jackall chubby, stiffy popper, sigletts, berkley pop/sub-dog/slum-dog etc.

st11's as well .. might as well stick with these. On average, they are probably #12, #14, #16 but I am not 100%.

That's all the lures I can think off at the moment that may need changing in the near future .. thanks !

#12 in the ST11's or Decoys are the way to go, these can go on everything from SX40's, Attomic cranks, chubby's ect.

ST11's don't last as long as the heavier guage hooks, but they hooks up better IMO. The Decoys are also great hooks.
