Certainly hard to beat 7 ball bearings at that price. Was given a few to try and we landed some big rainbows and Atlantics on them at a brood stock farm. Handled it well they did

I have been using the TRX30 for about 6months for my 6-8kg Tailor Chaser,7foot something.

Seems to do the job, but,Drag is poorly designed and very basic parts used.

6.5/10.

Yes it is a 'cheap' reel but at $50 and 7 ball bearings it's not a bad option if that is your budget. Couple of pics below - the Atlantic was BIG and the drag coped well with it as it did with the very energetic bow that had some big runs.

Gee i miss Tassie,i lived in Hobart for 6 years.

We bought @ Collins Cap and Kingston.

My Mother still lives in Cygnet, great part of the world and i have caught some monster Salmon there, courtesy Tas Sal !

I found a cracker Bream Spot in town, where my PB was 40 something at the fork....on 2kg gear.

Going down there soon, first thing i am packing is my fishing gear....
