welcome
Hi Frank
Well I visited Lidcombe briefly last saturday as Mim and I caught the train to the city. We had just done a session on the Parra, with Dave W, which was great fun. I learnt a heap about the Parra and found some nice spots. The yellowfin bream are all the way up to the weir at Parramatta. The bridge just downstream of the ferry landing at Parramatta has bream. I also caught some at Rydalmere.... is that how you spell it? all land based. The ferry from Parramatta only stops at Parramatta, Rydalmere and Circular Quay. I met a local who was trying to catch Bream at Rydalmere on a Squidgy Wriggler, although he was getting hits he couldn't hookup. I explained how he needed to downsize as he had the largest squidgy you could buy. So I pulled a no.2 bloodworm wriggler from my kit rigged on a size 2 hook 1/16th head and gave some pointers on presentaion. Second cast he had a bream and was wrapped. Youll catch a lot of Bream on small soft plastics. So if you do go landbashing try fishing amongst the gaps on the edge of the mangroves at Rydalmere.
