Handle bearing in luvias 2000?

I replaced my Luvias knob today with a cork handle. It took me a bit to work out why it was so loose and I had to dig to get the white bush out but managed to work it out. I only used 2 of washers supplied should I of put all four in ? ( 5 in total once there fitted )

Can I purchase a actual bearing to fit into place instead of the bush? Would it make much difference? A bearing would always be nicer then a plastic bush...

Edit* while I'm at it is there any other bushes I can replace for bearings?

Hey mate I replaced the white bush on my silver luvi and it felt much nicer, with the shims I just used trial and error till it had no play but still spun freely.
Got the bearing from fishhead ( tackleshop ) think it was 8 bucks, but have been told rc hobby shops stock the right size bearings might be worth a try.
Hope this helps cheers mate

I nugget yes you can run another handle bearing.Handle bearings can fit either inside or outside
So then you have 1 on the onside and 1 on the outside
The various washers take up the slop in side to side play.
Some reels I have different amounts even on the same type reel.

Yeah I just used it to take up the slop and put one on the white bush so the screw didnt dig into it. I ended up having to back the screw off around half a turn so the handle spun freely.

Hey nug

You should remove the the extra washer.
As you would rather get the screw to lock down to the shaft
Because you don,t want to be out in the boat or LB and the handle come loose.
Also I apply I tiny bit of thread locker also and since I have employ these 2things I have never had a handle come loose again.

I replaced the factory washer and placed 2 on the handle side seems to fit perfectly and screw does up properly without impairing the knob. Cheers

Just rang daiwa and they can supply me with the bearings and the bearing size. So I'll compare some prices and see where to get the cheapest.

Going to get a underspool bearing while I'm at it.
