That's pretty messed up. Although I have to admit, I did have a quick laugh at the female snails with a penis on their forehead.

I think you have found one of the april fool articles that have been getting around....although that one is still not as funny as the one that stated that trawlers had just been given permission to trawl the swan...and didnt that get a reaction...they even had a pic of a full size trawler sitting in mosman bay and it even caught me out until i heard it being discussed on 882 talkback as angry people rang in....very funny ..

i have several papers and unpublished studies from curtin and swan river trust.

the ones i have read so far mentioned nothing about this problem so i think bender is correct with the april fools stunt but im happy to tell any one i see with bream in there buckets that the river is polluted in a hope they will chuck the fish back.

yeah i read the same thing. it wasn't a joke like y'all suspecting

i also had a laugh about the snails, but over all i cant say this thought hadnt occured to me long before i began fishing the swan. it's always been a bit of a mess-pit.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but cant black bream change sex?

So there is a high chance what the studies actually show are the 13% of bream that are about or had just changed sex.
