I reckon its a top idea haha. Ive been working bloody hard chasing them since Jan and only have a few lost lures and shredded leaders to show for it. Any tips that myself and others like me can pick up about these red devils goes a long way. And I just love seeing photos of them!

That is some nice Jacks there guys , I am going up the creek on monday , so I will post some photos of where I fish for them , wait till you see where I tangle with the little buggers , if is warfare . I did record ,Time and tide one year , in a 12 month period I landed 263 ave 13 .1 a trip , most in one trip , was 38, me and the wife ,up the creeks they don't tend to be as large as the ones in your photos , more that size on the main river , more around the 38--42 cm up the creeks . as we are very close to the main reefs , once they get to 45--50 cm they head out to the reefs , then we call them reef Jacks , now that is another story for another day . forgot , all but 5 Jacks released to fight another day .
Ian

Love catching jacks, the hits on heavy gear would rate as one of the funinest kinds of fishing I do.

Big fan of the jacks. Pretty hard to beat the initiall hit and surge on heavy baitcast gear, big seperation between big jacks and average ones when the initial surge doesnt stop and you find yourself working really hard to keep them away from structure. Bloody satisfying seeing the huge boils from their tail kicks then that first glimpse of amber red. love seeing them swim off too

Catching jacks on the surface is great fun to watch, they certainly hit the lure hard.

All these jacks were caught in under a metre of water with 6lb fireline and 8lb vanish leader on a 1 to 2 kg rod and 1000 reel.
