Yellowbelly on Surface

Just wondering if anyone knows if Yellowbelly will take a surface lure?
If so what type of surface lure do they like?
Or even better what experiences have you had targeting them on surface?

I havent targeted them with surface lures, but back in the day when I used to chase them and the cod I had amny successes in some really shallow water. (under 2 ft) They love a moving bait so there isnt any reason they would take a nicely placed popper/walker.

I haven't caught them on surface but out in the western dams of nsw like Compton Glenline and Pindary iv seen them regularly finding on dying bait fish on the surface. They don't smash it but more so they kiss it of the surface like bream. So any small surface lures like Scum dogs, NW pencils or even Atomic Pups should work. I hop this helps and just remember persistence pays of.

cheers alex

I don't think you will find words like "ahaha" and "noob" in too many dictionaries either mate
