Boat hull upgrade

Hi all. Im looking to upgrade my hull. Currently I have a 35+ yr old dogget and have a 2006 15hp honda4st. I recently overhauled the trailer so am just looking for a hull a bit deeper and with a bit more beam than the dog to put the 15hp on. I use my tinnie mainly for estury but also make 2 trips a year to ningaloo and go outside the reef trolling for tuna and macks in good weather. Am interested in what people think would be suitable hull to go with my 15hp.

If anyone has a hull they want to get rid of located in wa I would be interested to see some pics or have a look.

Currently i have $1000 in the boat fund. brand new hulls ive been looking at go for $2100 - $2500.

I would probably have a look at one of these
http://www.aluminium.savageboats.com.au/bigboy385.html
Plenty of depth at 0.9m and a 1.85m beam.
Remember seeing one at the last boat show and thinking it was a deep hull for a tinny.
might be a bit cheaper than the stacers and quintrex's.
good luck
cheers
Matt

Thanks matt.

Ive had a look at the big boy. They are a nice boat and i would be keen for one. only problem is that they retail new for over 3 grand. have yet to see a second hand hull on the market.

The big boy is so nice though. looks stable and would handle well offshore.

the big boy looks like a good option i think....apart from the price.
the stacer seasprite comes to mind as another similar option.

im also on the look out for a new tinnie that my 15hp will be suited for.
my main problem with the old hull is stability, im still tossing up between a 'normal' dinghies or a v-nose punt style........

hi ben

yeah its a weigh up between stability and size. the v nose punts have so much space inside them but handle the chop and sea not as well as a vee hull.

Im going to head up to fremantle soon to have a look at some west oz manufacturers. maybe can get factory direct and a good deal.

Have a look at Blue Finn's range - Auzzie built (quite well too) and pricing not too harsh.
