New Prop needed

Hey guys,

I was down at walpole on the weekend and I damaged my prop My two questions are:
Do I replace with a prop the same size or bigger and where is the best place to get one from at a reasonable price?

The size of the current prop is 9 7/8 x 12 this is fitted to a 30hp 2 stroke Yamaha.

Any help would be great

Cheers
Tim

Good Q but easy answer,
Buy the same prop size in stainless steel. specially if it works OK now.

if you go a bigger / smaller prop you may (confident you will) alter the hole shot and top end speed. either better or worse.

I would go onto a Yammie web site and ask what they recommend for your motor.

EG i have a 90 Merc with a 21p prop. I put a 20p SS prop on and lost over 5km/h in speed and the motor kept hitting the rev limiter. I am yet to try a 22p, I dont know anyone who will lend me the prop for a test run

Ebay is a great place to buy props. but be sure the size is the exact one you need.

let us know how you go.

Give Solas a call, might not be the cheapest but worth a call.
