luvias or slammer
sounds like a stupid question.
but there is a small issue of price that comes into it and also old fashions reliability as well. i have always had slammers/spinfishers and have never had a drama but i wasnt casting light lures with even lighter braid either. there is a luvias and rod for 300 clams i could get or buy 2 new 260 L slammers and money left for more lures for same price. one good point with the luvias is other angles will not be making jokes about grinding coffee etc.. but jokes aside. is that enought reason to part with the extra hard earned.

The 260 slammer can do the same job as the Luvias but difference is in the weight and degree of engineering. Also the Slammer may not balance well with many of the "finesse" style bream rods nowadays.

no doubt with the quality of the luvias.
but is it worth the extra dollars. i guest if i had already bought one i may be talking and thinking differently as i attempt to convince myself it was all worth it. |

I have a mate who only used cheap kmart reels and would always bag me and my mate for using reels like luvias and stuff.
A couple weeks ago he shocked all of us by buying a blue luvias. Now we can't shut him up. ![]() ![]() ![]() The first thing you'll notice is how light and smooth the luvias is compared to the 260 slammers. |

We can't answer that question.
Luvias is lighter, tighter tolerances, better materials, probably smoother. Only you can tell if the better reel is worth that much more for you. What rod are you putting it on? IMO the rod is more important than the reel (to a certain point, as long as the reel has a decent drag and is reliable). Rod transmits bites and allows you to feel what the lure is doing etc. Unless you fishing with the finest of leaders this will put more fish the boat then a finesse drag and superlight reel.

Only main issue i reckon you will find is line lay. I have a 460 slammer and its a great reel for bottom bouncing but the line lay is no where near as good as real 4 daiwa.

more casting distance than anything else. imo the a sol 2500 would be the best go value for money wise. not much more and you get the luvias but.
