do fiberglass hulls smash or break?

hey guys, dis question has been in the back of my mind for ages, i've been in metal hull boats when we've drifted into rocks and stuff and felt the bang. I dont think plastic boats could break... Not sure tho? But being fiberglass, boats like the skeeters, bass boats and stuff, do they ever smash? Like even small holes and stuff.

I sat mine almost on a rock at low tide the other week, not a scratch on it, if hour on an oyster lease and some boat wake comes past n lifts you on to a pole there's a pretty good chance you may get a hole, otherwise these boats are rather tough they are built for shallow water and are reinforced.

little fact on fiberglass......if done properly[hand layed with quality resin and mattings or vacume resin infused]...=7 times stronger in every way than mild steel x weight and thickness....yes might get a scratch in the gel coat..=very easily repaired...

but smash it????? more likely to pucture a hole in ally than glass..

if done not properly= heavy, delaminating rubbish ..but still marginaly better than most ally boats...
